PAL Safety Training Inc. is located in Alberta, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit our website, contact us, book an appointment, or purchase a product or service.
This includes information collected during Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) registration and information required for official course reporting. Our privacy practices are governed by applicable legislation, including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Personal information we collect
We may collect personal information you choose to provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, address, booking details, order details, payment-related details, or message content.
For CFSC and CRFSC registration, we collect the student information required for official Canadian Firearms Program course reports, including:
Full legal first, middle (if applicable), and last names;
Date of birth;
Complete mailing address, including unit or suite number where applicable;
Telephone number and email address;
Course registration details and applicable registration responses.
Student attendance, examination results, and other information required for official course reporting are recorded as part of course administration.
The information collected during online registration is the same student identification information already required on official CFSC and CRFSC course reports. Electronic collection is intended to improve accuracy and administrative efficiency, not to expand the information students must provide.
Payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our website.
We may also receive basic technical and security information needed to operate and protect the website, such as browser type, device information, website security information, and website functionality information.
How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
respond to inquiries;
provide products, services, courses, bookings, and customer support;
manage appointments, orders, payments, refunds, or rescheduling requests;
verify student identification information during course check-in;
prepare, complete, and submit required CFSC and CRFSC course reports through the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program's MyCFP reporting system or other authorized reporting processes;
reduce handwriting interpretation errors and transcription errors in mandatory course reporting;
maintain website security and functionality;
meet legal, accounting, tax, dispute, warranty, or business record requirements;
protect our business, customers, rights, property, and safety.
We only collect, use, and disclose personal information for reasonable business purposes.
Student information collected for course registration, identification, or mandatory course reporting is not used by PAL Safety Training Inc. for marketing, remarketing, advertising profiling, or unrelated commercial purposes. We do not sell or provide student registration information to advertisers.
CFSC, CRFSC, and MyCFP reporting
The Canadian Firearms Program requires students to provide personal information for official CFSC and CRFSC course reports.
PAL Safety Training Inc. collects the required student information during online registration through Acuity Scheduling. This allows instructors to review and verify the information during course check-in and accurately complete mandatory reporting.
The RCMP's MyCFP Safety Course Report Portal enables authorized instructors to submit student identification information, course information, and examination results electronically as part of the firearms licensing process.
Information collected through Acuity Scheduling may be exported into administrative records for verification and manual entry into MyCFP. Only information reasonably necessary for course administration and authorized reporting purposes is used or disclosed.
Personal information submitted to the RCMP is handled by the Canadian Firearms Program under applicable federal legislation and government privacy and security requirements. PAL Safety Training Inc. remains responsible for meeting its applicable privacy obligations regarding information within its own control.
Cookies and tracking
We use required cookies only as needed to keep our website secure and functional.
Non-essential cookies are restricted. We do not use non-essential cookies for analytics, advertising, remarketing, or visitor profiling.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel, remarketing pixels, or similar website tracking scripts.
We have not configured our website to send visitor activity, conversion, remarketing, or analytics data to Google.
We do not use website tracking to create visitor activity profiles.
Google Ads
We may advertise through Google Ads.
Our website is not configured with Google Ads conversion tracking, remarketing tags, Google Analytics, or other Google website tracking scripts.
Google may process information when you interact with Google services or click on a Google advertisement, but PAL Safety Training Inc. does not use website-based Google tracking to monitor visitors after they arrive on our website.
We do not provide CFSC or CRFSC student registration information to Google Ads for advertising, audience targeting, or marketing purposes.
Service providers and processing outside Canada
We may use trusted service providers to help operate our business, including Squarespace for website hosting and functionality, Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace service) for course bookings, student intake forms, appointment management, and booking communications, Stripe for payment processing, and Google Ads for advertising.
These service providers may process or store information outside Canada.
Our identified international processing arrangements include:
United States — Squarespace and Acuity Scheduling use U.S. data centers for website services, appointment scheduling, student registration, intake information, technical support, security, and related service administration.
Personal information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the relevant jurisdiction, including lawful access requests by public authorities.
Service providers are only authorized to use personal information as needed to provide services to us, comply with legal requirements, or protect the security and integrity of their systems.

Online Safety Courses
Online safety courses are accessed through a BIS Safety Software Inc.-hosted platform. When you follow a course link, you will leave the PAL Safety Training website and provide the information required to register, purchase, and complete the course directly to BIS.
BIS collects and processes information on its platform in accordance with the BIS Safety Software Privacy Policy. As a course reseller, PAL Safety Training receives certain customer and course information from BIS for reseller administration, reporting, and transaction reconciliation.

Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell personal information.
We may disclose personal information:
to service providers that help us operate our business;
to the RCMP, Canadian Firearms Program, applicable Chief Firearms Officer, or other authorized government recipients as necessary for required CFSC and CRFSC course reporting;
when required or permitted by law;
to protect our rights, safety, property, customers, or business operations;
with your consent.
Personal information collected for mandatory course reporting is not disclosed to unrelated third parties for marketing purposes.
Retention and disposal
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required for legal, accounting, tax, dispute, warranty, insurance, or business record purposes.
CFSC and CRFSC student information, official course reports, and supporting administrative records may be subject to retention requirements established by applicable firearms authorities.
Student registration information stored in Acuity Scheduling and information exported into Excel or other administrative records is subject to our applicable retention requirements. Unnecessary duplicate records and temporary working files are to be securely removed when no longer reasonably required.
When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we will delete, destroy, anonymize, or securely retain it in accordance with our business and legal requirements.
Information held by third-party providers may remain in their systems or backups for periods governed by their applicable retention practices, contractual arrangements, and legal obligations.
Security and privacy breaches
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Safeguards are intended to protect student information during registration, administrative handling, course verification, storage, and reporting. Access to student records is restricted to authorized persons who require the information for legitimate business or course-reporting purposes.
No website or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
If an actual or suspected privacy breach occurs, including a breach involving a third-party service provider, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, contain, assess, and respond to the incident.
Where an actual privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm to an individual, we will notify Alberta's Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner without unreasonable delay, as required under PIPA. We will notify affected individuals where required by law or the Commissioner.
Using external service providers does not remove PAL Safety Training Inc.'s applicable responsibilities under privacy legislation.
Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, subject to legal limits.
Students are encouraged to verify their legal names, dates of birth, mailing addresses, and other required reporting information during course check-in and advise their instructor of any errors.
Requests to correct information already submitted to the RCMP may also require contacting the Canadian Firearms Program, depending on which organization holds or controls the information.
