What is the minimum age requirement?
Anyone 12 and up may take Canadian Firearms Safety Course

How long are courses? What time do courses start? Can I take CFSC and CRFSC on the same day?
Please arrive by 8:45am.
Courses start at 9:00am sharp. Late arrivals are not permitted.
CFSC and CRFSC are each full, one day courses.
Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is 8 hours instruction time.
Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) is up to 6 hours instruction time.
CFSC and CRFSC instruction time will be immediately followed by about 90 - 120 minutes of Written & Practical testing.

Where is training held?
All courses are held at our Training Center in Edmonton, Alberta.
Small class sizes give you plenty of 1-on-1 time with our instructors.
Located in South Edmonton at the Ellwood Business Center, our Training Center has elevator access with nearby amenities.
All courses are offered in English. Electronic devices are not permitted during testing.

Can I take ONLY the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)?
Passing CFSC prior to attending CRFSC or having a valid Non-Restricted firearms licence (PAL) is a prerequisite.
You must be at least 18 to attend the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC).

Can I reschedule my course date?
Students may request to reschedule their course with a minimum of 72 hours notice before the scheduled course start time.
A maximum of 2 reschedules is permitted per booking. Each approved reschedule is subject to a $40 + GST rescheduling fee. Rescheduling is subject to seat availability in a future course.
By completing the booking, the student authorizes PAL Safety Training to charge any applicable rescheduling fee to the original payment method, where possible.

What is the cancellation policy?
Course fees are non-refundable. Please ensure you can attend the course before signing up.
Please arrive by 8:30 AM. Courses will start at 9:00 AM sharp. Late arrivals are not permitted to attend and considered a “No Show.”
If a student requests a reschedule with less than 72 hours notice, does not attend their scheduled course, or exceeds the maximum of 2 reschedules, the booking will be treated as forfeited and the course fee will not be credited or transferred, except where required by applicable law.

What happens if I fail the course?
Please discuss available options and fees with your instructor.

Are ONLINE ONLY courses available?
No, you must pass in-person written and practical exams before you can apply for your PAL or R/PAL.
Online booking and full payment are required to reserve a seat for in-person training.
In-person payment is not available.
Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been successfully processed and a confirmation email has been issued.
