What is the minimum age requirement?
Anyone 12 and up may take Canadian Firearms Safety Course
You must be 18+ to take Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course

How long are courses? What time do courses start? Can I take CFSC and CRFSC on the same day?
Please arrive at 8:45am.
Courses start at 9:00am sharp. Late arrivals are not permitted.
CFSC and CRFSC are both one day courses.
Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is 8 hours instruction time.
Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) is up to 6 hours instruction time.
CFSC and CRFSC instruction time will be immediately followed by about 90 minutes of Written & Practical testing.

Where is training held?
All courses are held at our Training Center in Edmonton, Alberta.
Small class sizes give you plenty of 1-on-1 time with our instructors.
Located in South Edmonton at the Ellwood Business Center, our Training Center has elevator access with nearby amenities.
All courses are offered in English. Electronic devices are not permitted during testing.

Can I take ONLY the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)?
Passing CFSC prior to attending CRFSC or having a valid Non-Restricted firearms licence (PAL) is a prerequisite.
You must be at least 18 to attend the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC).

Can I reschedule / change my course date?
Course reschedules or changes are limited to a maximum of 2 instances and subject to a rescheduling fee ($40 + GST) automatically charged to your original payment method.
Exceeding maximum number of course reschedules or changes will result in forfeiture of all course fees.

What is the cancellation policy?
All course changes, rescheduling and/or cancellations require minimum of 72 hours notice prior to your course date in order to reschedule for another day. Sorry, no refunds.
Failure to show up for a course without prior notice (minimum 72 hours) to PAL Safety Training will result in forfeiture of all course fees. -
What happens if I fail the course?
Please discuss available options and fees with your instructor.

Are ONLINE ONLY courses available?
No, you must pass in-person written and practical exams before you can apply for your PAL or R/PAL.
